The “Protecting God’s Children” workshop is part of the diocese’s Ethics and Integrity in Ministry policies. Please let parishioners know of these workshops by using an announcement similar to the following.

Protecting God’s Children, a workshop on child sexual abuse, will be held [date, time and location]. This workshop is part of the diocesan Ethics and Integrity in Ministry policies that were adopted in January 2002. Anyone—volunteers, paid staff or clergy—who serves minors or vulnerable adults in a parish, school or diocesan setting should attend one of these workshops. Please register ahead of time so that adequate material may be available by contacting [contact information]. You may inquire about childcare. Materials used in the workshop include testimonies from victims and perpetrators of sexual abuse. If you have any concerns regarding your attendance at the workshop, please contact Emily Hurlimann at (512) 697-2047 to arrange an alternative arrangement to receive your training. Such inquiries shall remain confidential.

Protegiendo a los Niños de Dios, es un taller sobre el abuso sexual infantil que se llevará al cabo [fecha, hora y lugar]. Este taller es parte de las políticas diocesanas sobre Ética e Integridad en el Ministerio, mismas que fueron puestas en marcha el pasado mes de enero del 2002. Ya sea – voluntarios, personal administrativo o integrantes del clero, quiénes trabajan con menores o adultos vulnerables, en una parroquia o a nivel diocesano, deberán acudir a uno de estos talleres.
