Youth Ministry Position - St. Luke Catholic Church - Temple, TX

The Director of Youth & Family Ministry will be an enthusiastic, energetic and "forward thinking" Catholic Christian with a passion for working with youth and families. The Director will develop, organize and implement programs for youth, parents and families, churched and unchurched, and build relationship with families while advocating for the family unit within the parish.
This is a full-time position with benefits and requires flexible work hours to include weekends, weekdays and some evenings. Educational requirement is a Bachelor degree, preferably a Master's Degree in Theology. The Director must be a practicing Roman Catholic preferably with 3-5 years experience in this or related field. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.

The Director of Youth and Family Ministry, in close collaboration with the pastor, parish staff and volunteers will have primary responsibilities in:
Middle School Ministry and Catechesis (grades 6-8)
Confirmation
High School Ministry (grades 9-12)
Family based Catechesis

Since the family is the first place where catechesis and ministry to youth occurs, the Director will deliver these services to youth of the parish with a special emphasis and focus on parents; to help them enliven with their children a knowledge, love and excitement for their Catholic faith.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

1. Must have and embrace a personal relationship with Christ.
2. Must embrace Christian discipline and the holy Catholic Church doctrine and belief.
3. A bachelor's degree in a related field is minimum requirement. Professional Certification in Youth Ministry is desired.
4. Must have vision and a demonstrated ability to plan, develop, coordinate, manage and implement in a youth ministry with in the parameters of the New Evangelization in the Holy Catholic Church.
5. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, conflict management skills, and computer skills.
6. Must posses a proven ability to work effectively with youth, diverse individuals, and teams of volunteers.
