Echoes of Faith
Echoes of Faith is a basic level, video-assisted resource for the formation and enrichment of catechists in parishes and Catholic schools. It was developed by the National Conference of Catechetical Leadership (NCCL) and produced by RCL/Benziger. The video series is available from RCL/Benziger.
General Principles for using Echoes of Faith
The Echoes of Faith program requires an adult learning setting and group process. The viewing of the video, the subsequent discussion, and sharing around reflection questions and journaling is to be done in a group setting under the leadership of a well-prepared facilitator. It should not be done by an individual without group process.
The group leader should be thoroughly familiar with the Director’s Manual, each video module and video companion booklet before beginning any component of the program. Each participant must have and use their own booklet.
While there is no required order for using the modules, the recommended pattern is:
- Catechetical Modules
- Methodological Module
Upon completion of the Echoes of Faith classes, the Basic Teachings of the Catholic Faith classes, and a day of discernment, a catechist may apply for Level I certification.
