  • DCYC Discipleship CREW

    • Discipleship (C)hrist-centered (R)enewed (E)ucharistic (W)itness is a team of youth who seek to draw others to Christ through their service, faith and witness at the conference. The Discipleship CREW experience may include time on stage, serving in workshops, hospitality and in various ways as needed throughout the weekend. Sophomores through seniors who have attended DCYC in the past are eligible to apply to serve on the Discipleship CREW. More information and applications are available below.

    • Discipleship CREW FAQs
      • Who is eligible to serve on the Discipleship CREW?

Discipleship CREW members must meet the following criteria:
        • Be a practicing Catholic and active member of their local parish.
        • Be a witness of your Catholic faith in your personal life as well as on social media.
        • Be a sophomore, junior, or senior in high school.
        • Have attended DCYC in-person previously as a high school student.
        • Be willing and able to participate in all training as outlined below. (Please do not apply if unavailable on the dates below).
        • Be willing to speak or act on stage.
        • If 18 years of age by DCYC, compliance with Ethics and Integrity in Ministry is expected by December 31, 2024.

What is the time commitment for serving on Discipleship CREW?

Discipleship CREW members are required to attend all scheduled planning meetings/workshops before DCYC, as well as attend the entirety of DCYC. Discipleship CREW members will arrive in Waco for DCYC on the evening of Thursday, January 30, 2025. In addition, you may be asked to work on programming components (memorization, practice, etc.) outside of these scheduled events. Attendance at these events in their entirety is mandatory, so please mark these dates on your calendar if you feel called to apply.

        Discipleship CREW Important Dates:
        • Workshop #1: Saturday, November 2, 2024 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. (in-person, location TBA)
        • Planning Meeting: Saturday, December 7, 2024 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. (virtual)
        • Workshop #2: Saturday, January 4, 2025 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. (in-person, location TBA)
        • DCYC: Thursday (evening), January 30 - Sunday, February 2, 2025 (Waco, TX)

Will I get to spend time with my parish group at DCYC?

The Discipleship CREW is an important piece of the larger DCYC Committee that plans and executes the conference each year. As a member of the Discipleship CREW, you are expected to serve and assist with behind-the-scenes and on-stage elements throughout the conference. We will have a very full and exciting schedule so please count on spending the majority of the time at DCYC with your fellow Discipleship CREW members. However, during designated free times you are welcome to meet up with your parish group at the convention center if they are available.

What do I need to know about accommodations and travel for DCYC?

Members of the Discipleship CREW will have their hotel accommodations taken care of by the DCYC Committee Thursday - Sunday. A block of rooms will be reserved for Discipleship CREW members to share - your parish group will not need to make your hotel accommodations.

Discipleship CREW members are expected to coordinate their travel to Waco on the evening of Thursday, January 30, 2025; dinner will be available for those arriving before 7 p.m.  At the conclusion of the conference, Discipleship CREW members are welcome to travel back home with their parish groups or by other means. Staff must be notified ahead of time of members Sunday travel plans.

Do I need to register for DCYC if I'm selected to join the Discipleship CREW?

Acceptance to the 2025 Discipleship CREW ensures your registration for the conference. You will not need to register for DCYC through your parish. However, Discipleship CREW members are expected to pay the standard $85 registration fee for the conference. Registration fees will be collected at either of the two in-person workshops before DCYC or you may also pay by credit card here.

What if I have more questions?

If you have any more questions about Discipleship CREW, you can please contact Elizabeth McAlonan.
