During this holy season, we turn our attention to the Paschal Mystery – the life, passion, death, and resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth. This mystery is the culmination of God’s love for us; it is the story of our salvation. We know there were others who accompanied Jesus as this story unfolded – the apostles and many other women and men eager to learn his teaching and to live the call he placed before them. Among those many others is Mary of Nazareth. While she is in a privileged position, she, too, entered into the reality of the Paschal Mystery. She knew the joy of being the mother of Jesus, but she also knew the pain of walking the pathways of the cross.
This day of reflection will focus on Mary of Sorrows. We will explore her experience in each of the seven sorrows and examine how those sorrows constitute a model and guide for the whole spiritual life. With her as our companion in daily life, we can deepen our commitment to live the fullness of the Paschal Mystery. The retreat cost is $50, including lunch. Register here.
