This 2-day course, led by a team of instructors representing different cultural perspectives, will help us frame issues of diversity theologically in terms of the Church’s identity and mission to evangelize. Students will explore an understanding of “culture” and how it works, learn new intercultural communication skills, and recognize the obstacles which impede effective intercultural relations. Attention will be given to ways of integrating rather than assimilating different cultures within Church settings, characterized by a spirituality of hospitality, reconciliation and mission (12 hours). If you have any questions, please contact the Office of Evangelization & Catechesis at (512) 949-2492.
