The Chrism Mass is one of the most solemn and important annual liturgies for the diocesan church. This is the Mass during which the priests of the diocese renew their priestly promises, and a bishop consecrates the Sacred Chrism and blesses the Oil of the Catechumens and the Oil of the Sick, which will be used at diocesan parishes for the next year.
This year, Bishop Italo Dell'Oro, C.R.S., Auxiliary Bishop for the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, will celebrate the Mass.
