As part of the U.S. Bishop’s Eucharist Revival, Cedarbrake offers a day retreat on “The Gift of the Holy Eucharist” at St. Mary’s in Taylor. Fr. Harry Dean will share insights from some saints on the Eucharist and Brian Egan will speak about scripture passages that teach us about Our Lord who is truly present in the Holy Eucharist.
Spend time “Mingling with the Mystics,” four of them who span six centuries of Christian history. Br. Joel Giallanza, CSC will lead each sessions providing an overview of the life and teaching of Saints Catherine of Siena, John of Ávila, Francis de Sales, and Thérèse of Lisieux.
Filled with reflections and brief imaginative sequences, this retreat invites you to imagine you are with the Blessed Virgin — visiting in her living room, working in her garden, or catching up over coffee. Retreat leader, Shawn Chapman is a writer and a Discalced Secular Carmelite from College Station.
Spend two to five nights in quiet prayer with others desiring to draw closer to Jesus. Daily mass, talks, communal prayer, devotions, confession, and Eucharistic Adoration will be part of the retreat led by Fr. Harry Dean and Brian Egan.
The Lord continually calls us to step out in faith, and to trust Him as Peter did. There is something within us that tells us there is more to life than sitting in the boat. We are called to leave the safety net and go on an amazing adventure with God.
Set aside a few days this summer to draw closer to Our Lord! This retreat is offered specifically for Diocesan and Parish Staff employees in the Diocese of Austin. Fr. Charlie Garza & Fr. Harry Dean will be the speakers and preachers during this silent retreat. Fr. Charlie will give a daily conference and participants will have a daily one-on-one session with a Spiritual Director. Fr. Harry will celebrate mass each day.
