Formation Events

Liturgy is a privileged place where we encounter Christ. We are called to never lose our astonishment at that encounter. Liturgical ministers have a unique role in helping facilitate that encounter. However, it is easy for all of us to lose our sense of astonishment, and to start to find the encounter ordinary. The Office of Worship is excited to offer a series of webinars for liturgical ministers and anyone interested in being formed more in the importance of the liturgy. While on specific topics, each webinar is ultimately aimed at helping recapture the astonishment that should greet us at our encounter with Christ in the liturgy.

May 30, 2023:  The Universal Call to Holiness 

Are you baptized? Then this webinar is for you! Our first vocation, by virtue of our baptism, is to holiness. In our busy lives of ministry, sometimes this call to grow in holiness can get lost. This webinar will unpack what the call to holiness is about and how that impacts the lives of those involved in liturgical ministry in the Church.

Do you ever wonder what the liturgy is all about? Do you have questions about why the various liturgies are prayed the way they are? Then this webinar is for you! This webinar will look at some of the main documents on the Liturgy and answer questions like: What is the point of the liturgy? How is the Mass structured? What does it mean to participate fully in the liturgical life of the Church? How can we pray Mass well? What about the other liturgies of the Church?

If you are an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion this webinar is for you! This webinar will look at the Eucharistic theology that is expressed in the liturgy.
