EspanolAs I travel throughout the diocese conferring the sacrament of Confirmation and celebrating Baccalaureate Masses and graduations, I am filled with joy witnessing the growth in wisdom and holiness of our people. This month I will celebrate four Baccalaureate Masses and 16 confirmation liturgies! This is a time of great hope and thanksgiving knowing that these important milestones are gifts from God.
Graduates, as you continue your studies or pursue a career, be assured of my prayers. Your journey is a combination of God’s providence and your response to his generosity. As persons created in God’s image, I encourage you to remain confident in his love for you.
Confirmandi, remember that the sacrament of Confirmation is the gift of the Holy Spirit which fully initiates you into the Catholic Church. Having received the gifts of the Holy Spirit: wisdom, understanding, knowledge, counsel, fortitude, piety and fear of the Lord, may you always witness your love and discipleship for Jesus Christ.
Let us continue to remember in prayer our brothers and sisters in Ukraine whose lives have been forever changed by this time of war. Together, we call upon our Mother Mary to bring peace to our world as we follow her Son, Jesus Christ.
