Our journey in preparation to receive Christ our Savior continues... (E-Pistle Message)

During Advent we journeyed together in preparation for the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. With the lighting of each candle around the Advent wreath, increasing the light from week to week, we were reminded of the invitation to experience the mystery of God’s Revelation. Throughout Advent we were also reminded of the intimate role of the Blessed Virgin Mary as the mother of our Lord and Savior.

Our time of preparation was fulfilled as we celebrated the birth of Jesus. As Catholics our Christmas season begins on Dec. 25. Throughout this season we celebrated the feast of the Holy Family and rejoiced in the Epiphany when the Magi come from the east to behold the child who is God. This weekend, we conclude the Christmas season with the Baptism of the Lord -- the beginning of Christ’s public mission.

May this celebration of Advent and Christmas encourage each one of us to join the Holy Family in accompanying one another in wisdom and holiness. I pray that 2022 will be a time of rebirth for you in experiencing Christ who makes all things new. May God bless each of you as we journey together.
