For several weeks now, parishes throughout the Diocese have been inviting the People of God to share their faith journey through the Synodal Process. With the Diocesan Regional Listening Sessions commencing, we enter the next phase of this process where we once again ask the Holy Spirit to guide the Mystical Body of Christ on this shared journey.
Earlier this week, I spent an evening at St. Luke Parish in Temple with parishioners from the Temple/Killeen and Waco areas listening to the voices of the faithful share their lived experiences as Catholics. This counsel will help me, my brother bishops, and Pope Francis lead the Church well. I invite you to participate in an upcoming session to join with our brothers and sisters in this dialogue.
This coming weekend, as we celebrate “Called by Name” Sunday, we are once again reminded to listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit, calling us to bear witness to him. Whether God is calling one to the priesthood, diaconate, or consecrated, married or single life, we all share in the mission of living out the gospel values and making disciples of all nations.
May Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception help us to listen to the call of Jesus Christ so that together we may build up the Kingdom of God and bear a rich harvest in his vineyard.
