Our theme for this year’s Catholic Services Appeal (CSA) is "Together, we make a difference." These words resonate especially this year as we celebrate the incredible generosity and increased participation of donors to last year’s CSA. I am pleased to share that we surpassed our goal of $6.4 million, raising an astounding $7.6 million while increasing the number of families and individual donors participating by 44%!
I am grateful to our clergy for their efforts to encourage and educate parishioners about the far-reaching impact the CSA has in funding the shared ministries of our diocese. And, I am especially grateful to you for your gift which has enabled us to impact the lives of more than 700,000 people across the 25 counties that encompass our diocese in Central Texas.
God calls us to be good stewards of the gifts we have received and to use them to serve others. Your faithful support of the CSA last year of is a testament to this call. Every gift, no matter the size, plays a crucial role in our mission to serve the poor, hungry, and homeless; help care for our elderly priests; nurture priestly and diaconal vocations; educate our youth; strengthen our religious education efforts; minister to the sick and elderly; and much more.
As we celebrate our past accomplishments, I invite you to prayerfully consider increasing the amount of your gift to the CSA this year if you are financially able. Please make your gift securely online at austindiocese.org/give.
Together, let us bring Christ’s love into our communities and share his enduring presence with everyone we encounter.
Gratefully in Christ, Most Reverend Joe S. Vásquez Bishop of Austin
