      The Office of Black Ministry provides support to all matters related to the promotion of continued integration of African-American Catholics into parish and community life, and activities related to the spiritual, educational and societal well-being of Catholics of African descent.

    • Canonical and Tribunal Services

      The ministry of the Tribunal includes all matters concerning the application and practice of canon law within the diocese.

    • Catholic Charities of Central Texas

      Catholic Charities of Central Texas is a faith-based social services organization serving individuals and families across 25 Central Texas counties. We provide a holistic set of programs and services to engage, educate and empower Central Texans out of poverty now and into the future.

    • Catholic Foundation

      The Catholic Foundation is a non-profit organization established to provide endowments for the Diocese of Austin and its parishes, schools, agencies and organizations.

    • Catholic Schools

      The Office of Catholic Schools, in service to principals and school communities, assists Catholic schools in the spiritual, intellectual, emotional, physical and social formation of students.

    • Catholic Spirit

      As the official newspaper for the diocese, the Catholic Spirit is dedicated to providing information, education and formation for the Catholic community of Central Texas.

    • Cedarbrake Catholic Retreat Center

      Cedarbrake is the diocesan retreat center. It offers days of reflection, weekend retreats and other events. It is also available for use by parishes, ministries and other groups.

    • Chancellor

      The chancellor provides legal and logistical support to the diocese, parishes and schools.

      The Communications Office assists Bishop Vásquez,  diocesan offices, ministries and parishes in all matters of communication.

    • Diaconal Ministry

      To assist men in their discernment of God's possible call to Holy Orders, the Diaconal Ministry Office offers a variety of resources and facilitates the diaconal formation program.

    • Ethics and Integrity in Ministry

      The EIM Office facilitates education, healing and training efforts to create a safe environment for all involved in the ministry of the diocese.

    • Evangelization and Catechesis

      The vision of the Office of Evangelization and Catechesis is to deepen the local church’s communion with the Lord. The office seeks to equip individuals and parishes for Christian discipleship, which includes a fruitful sacramental life; to enliven the local church’s missionary impulse through spiritual formation and support so that Catholics may become more effective witnesses of the Gospel of Jesus Christ; and to support the vital ministry of catechesis through the education and formation of parish catechists and ministry leaders.

    • Facilities

      The diocese, as the owner of property that has great monetary value, has the responsibility to be good stewards of all the assets enstrusted to it. The Facilities Office helps accomplish this by following diocesan policy and seeking the guidance of the experts serving the diocese. It is the joint responsibility of all involved to see that all construction projects reflect good stewardship.

    • Finance

      The Finance Office supports the work of the diocese by providing an accounting of the stewardship of diocesan offices and parishes. The chief financial officer assists the bishop in directing and guiding the financial, business and administrative affairs of the diocese. The office includes three units: Parish Business Services, Finance and Accounting.

    • Fine Arts Council

      The mission of the Fine Arts Council is to act as a catalyst and lead a renaissance in visual religious fine art with a focus on the Judeo-Christian faith.

    • Hispanic Ministry

      The Office of Hispanic Ministry assists the bishop and/or his designate in visioning integration and administration of the ministerial needs of the Hispanic community.

    • Human Resources

      The Office of Human Resources assists the Pastoral Center, Cedarbrake Retreat Center, St. John Paul II Residence for Priests and Catholic Charities of Central Texas with issues regarding personnel policies, employment and hiring procedures, salary/wage administration, the performance evaluation process, FMLA and other HR-related topics.

    • Immigration Legal Services

      Immigration Legal Services offers affordable immigration legal assistance from experienced attorneys and staff, with a focus on family reunification.

    • Information Technology

      The Information Technology Office supports the departments and ministries of the diocese and Catholic Charities through the use of modern technology. We offer technology guidance to parishes, schools and agencies throughout the diocese.

    • John Paul II Residence for Priests

      The St. John Paul II Residence for Priests provides a safe and caring place for our retired priests to live in community.

    • Legal Services

      The Legal Services department provides legal services, counsel and representation to the bishop, vicar general and the diocesan curia, as well as to the parishes and schools under the parish services agreements between the parishes and diocese. The department also coordinates the efforts of outside counsel that are used in matters involving litigation and special issues. The department reviews policies for compliance with various laws. The department participates in continuing education programs for parishes and schools in matters related to legal issues.

    • Life, Charity and Justice

      The Department of Life, Charity and Justice connects the diocese and its parishes with the national and state bishops conferences and with other national, state and local groups working on the following issues: Advocacy, Aging and Disabilities, Catholic Campaign for Human Development, Catholic Relief Services, Catholic Social Teaching, Restorative Justice, Faithful Citizenship, Immigration and Environmental Care.

    • Life, Marriage and Family

      The mission of the Life, Marriage and Family Office is to provide services that affirm the sacredness of life, the sanctity of marriage, the sacramentality of the family and a Christian lifestyle, through all phases of human growth and development.

    • Minister to Retired Priests

      The Minister to Retired Priests cares for priests who have retired from full-time ministry, particularly, those who reside at the St. John Paul II Residence for Priests.

    • Missions and Discipleship

      The Office of Missions and Discipleship together with the Department of Life, Charity and Justice works to cultivate a greater understanding of our mission identity that comes from our baptism. We seek to establish dialogue and be of assistance to our diocesan departments, parishes, clergy, the laity and schools to promote mission awareness, to stimulate mission education endeavors, to cultivate mission spirituality and to nurture missionary activity.

    • Office of the Bishop

      The Office of the Bishop oversees the logistics of the bishop of Austin's ministry.

    • Parish Business Services

      The Office of Parish Business Services provides parishes with guidance and resources for all business services

    • Pastoral Juvenil

      The Office of Pastoral Juvenil is a resource for clergy, parish staff and adults who work with Latino middle school, high school and young adults.

    • Priestly Life and Formation

      This committee works on behalf of the bishop of Austin to provide resources for the care of priests in the diocese. This includes their spiritual and physical well-being as well as ongoing formation to build on their natural gifts and talents or to provide enrichment in areas where priests may desire to grow. The committee plans workshops, days of reflection, annual retreats and the annual priest gatherings. It also assists with arrangements for priests who wish to go on sabbatical or attend other seminars outside the diocese.

    • Religious

      The Office for Religious serves as the liaison between the bishop of the Austin and religious sisters and brothers engaged in ministry in the diocese.

    • Restorative Justice

      The mission of Restorative Justice Ministry is to promote Christ’s love and forgiveness through assistance, education and social interaction to the incarcerated and their families, and to help those returning from prison successfully reintegrate into society by becoming productive citizens.

    • Risk Management

      To decrease the probability of operational risks leading to new claims or losses, the Office of Risk Management proactively shares with our parishes, Catholic schools and other institutions the evolving best practices drawn from the Diocese of Austin’s — as well as other dioceses in the United States’ — prior experience with those same risks.

    • Stewardship and Development

      The Stewardship and Development Office serves as a resource for parishes, schools and Catholic agencies in planning and implementing stewardship and development programs and capital and endowment campaigns.

    • Vicar for Priests

      The Vicar for Priests represents the bishop in his work with brother priests and in expressing concern for their emotional, physical and spiritual well-being.

      The Vicar General assists the Bishop of Austin in his governance of the diocese.

    • Vocations

      The Office of Vocations promotes the universal call to holiness of all Christians and highlights the unique calls to priesthood and the religious life.

    • Worship

      The Office of Worship, charged by and working with the bishop of Austin, implements the vision of the Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy. In cooperation with him, all new church construction is supported according to church documents and all liturgical prayer is nourished. The office also extends support to all Ordinary Ministers of the Eucharist. Collectively, we strive to provide meaningful worship experiences that touch the hearts and minds of all parishioners. The Office of Worship serves as a resource center for liturgical ministry materials, ministry formation and consultation.

    • Young Adult Ministry

      Young Adult Ministry aims to connect young adults between the ages of 18 and 39 with Jesus Christ and his challenge to live the Gospel. This ministry offers young adults support to live based on their Christian faith, where young adults see their search for identity, relationships, work and spiritual life in relation to Christ’s call to holiness, community and service.

    • Youth Ministry

      Youth Ministry empowers young people to live as disciples of Jesus Christ in our world today; draws young people to responsible participation in the life, mission, and work of the Catholic faith community; and fosters the total personal and spiritual growth of each young person.
