This workshop is intended for pastoral staff — priests, deacons, and lay case counselors* — that assist persons seeking to rectify their marital situation with the Catholic Church. The workshop focuses especially on meeting with a person to determine whether they need a declaration of nullity or some other canonical process, conducting the preliminary investigation, and helping petitioners find the necessary documents and witnesses to begin the process with the tribunal. We will also discuss best practices, possible pitfalls, resources, and have time for any questions.
We have revised our forms and our manual, so even if you have many years of experience, it is essential to come and see what is new.
All workshops will be held at the diocesan Pastoral Center from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the following dates:
Saturday, February 4, 2023
*NOTE: Laity desiring to become a case counselor must be designated for this ministry by their pastor. Please ask him to complete this form prior to completing the registration.
Lunch will be provided. Please park in the visitor parking in the front of the building or on the surface parking at the back of the building.
